Metso to deliver containerboard production line for paper and pulp manufacturer in China
Finnish engineering and technology company Metso will supply an OptiConcept M containerboard production line to Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing for its Chongqing site in Sichuan Province in China, as part of an order.
Finnish engineering and technology company Metso will supply an OptiConcept M containerboard production line to Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing for its Chongqing site in Sichuan Province, China.
According to Metso, the production line is scheduled to be operational by 2014.
In the basis weight range of 70-160g/m², the 7.25-m-wide PM 20 line will produce about 1,160t per day testliner grades from recycled raw material at a design speed of 1,100m/min.
Metso Paper business line R&D Director Sami Anttilainen, commenting on the line, said, "This production line optimises the machine investment in line with the mill’s capacity needs and ensures optimised productivity at minimal operational cost."
The design of the production line, which allows for safe changing of rolls and wear parts, is expected to minimise the total duration and cost of service as well as maintenance shutdowns.
As part of the order, Metso will supply a complete OptiConcept M boardmaking line from headbox to reel with related air systems.
A comprehensive automation package consisting of a mill-wide Metso DNA automation solution with machine and process controls, a Metso IQ quality control system and a Metso IQ Dilution Profiler will also be supplied.
Metso has not disclosed the value of the order.
Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing manufactures various linerboard and corrugating medium grades for various industrial packaging purposes.
The company, which has five plants in China, operates also in pulp making, plantation and recovered paper collection.
