Mondi Consumer Packaging has extended its portfolio of packaging bags with the addition of the new PolyWoven Bag.
The new bag features a durable and lightweight packaging with pinch bottom, and offers an all-over print.
Produced using extrusion lamination technology, the PolyWoven Bag is said to be suitable for automatic filling systems and easy to palletise.
With its large printing surface, the bag presents an ideal communication panel.
Mondi Consumer Packaging and North America CEO Ralph Landwehr said that large bags are usually presented lying flat in the shelf.
"Depending on customer requirements, the surface and bottom can be printed in glossy and matt designs to represent product brands in the best-possible way and to attract end-consumers at the point-of-sale," Landwehr said.
The bag combines product presentation with key advantages such as tear-resistance, eco-friendliness and recyclability.
The bag's pinch bottom is closed with hot melt, while its top portion can be manufactured in various versions, such as open mouth flush cut or pinch top with or without reactive hot melt.
According to the company, the bag after filling can be closed by using alternatives such as heat seal closure, folding with a tape or stitch closing.
The PolyWoven Bag is claimed to be suitable for various products, such as fertiliser, seeds, flour, sugar or rice, and also serves as a suitable packaging solution for the pet food industry.
Mondi Consumer Packaging, a business unit of Mondi's Europe & International division, manufactures products that are used in a variety of areas with the main focus being fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).
