US-based print-based packaging supplier Multi Packaging Solutions (MPS) has announced the installation of a new KBA Rapida press for its board packaging and plastic printing.
The new press with full automation from KBA North America is in production at MPS' facility in Indianapolis at present.
MPS, which approached KBA with specific needs as well as configuration, wanted to upgrade its existing press technology.
The company wanted to improve technology with new features to provide increased productivity, flexibility for multiple coating effects, maximum efficiency, colour stability, print quality and short makeready times.
According to MPS, its new press provides solutions on the specially-configured model with unique capabilities.
Claimed to have reasonable speed, the KBA Rapida press improves productivity, production flexibility and automation.
The production speed and short makeready times is expected to expand the company's capabilities, while helping cut its overall costs.
MPS manufactures print-based speciality packaging for the cosmetics, healthcare, consumer and media end markets.
The company, which has 16 manufacturing locations in the US and Europe, offers packaging solutions to existing and future customers.
