Oliver-Tolas Healthcare Packaging has announced the expansion of its global operations covering three continents.

The company acquired a facility in Pennsylvania, US, expanded the clean room manufacturing area in their Venray, Netherlands facility and commenced manufacturing operations in Suzhou, China.

The newly acquired 50,000ft² facility is located next to the company's existing operation in Feasterville at Pennsylvania Boulevard. The Feasterville operation manufactures pouches, roll stock, lids and zone-coated lids. Besides additional cleanroom space, the expansion is set to allow for improved product flow and added capacity.

Oliver-Tolas CEO Jerry Bennish said that the company has already started using the additional warehouse space, and plans to construct an International Standards Organisation (ISO) 7 and an ISO 8 cleanroom.

"We have been deliberating expansion options for our Feasterville, PA operation and are excited to have overcome space limitations," he said.

The clean room manufacturing area expansion in the Venray facility includes a 120m² ISO 8-certified cleanroom and a 1500m² warehouse.

At the facility, the company currently produces lids and pouches using both its Xhale and SealScience adhesive coated products.

The added space will be used for the preparation of printed roll stock products and additional capacity for lid production.

Oliver-Tolas opened a sales office in China in 2006 to cater to demand from both medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The company is now bringing die-cut lid manufacturing to the country. The 12,000ft² facility includes a 1,800ft² registered ISO 8 cleanroom.
