Packaging Automation has unveiled a new tray sealer for its eclipse range, targeted at the meat, poultry and fish sectors.
The new electrical eclipse SL4 tray sealer requires zero air for full operation and has the capacity to minimise the user’s running costs by 90%.
According to the company, the sealer’s capabilities include the option for skin packing, gas flushing and vacuum gas flushing at a rate of up to 75 a minute.
The eclipse range offers the inside cut option and the capability to run sealing film as thin as 17 micron, reducing film usage by 20% compared to current tray sealers.
Single impression removable cartridges enable continued operation during repairs and maintenance. The company can also supply spare cartridges in order to allow full capacity operation at all times.
The sealer features a minimal operator interface that prevents errors and improves efficiency by pre-setting machine parameters. The eclipse range also features tooling heater mats with an integrated thermocouple. These heat up 30% faster and have a longer life than current products.
A pack crush protection system averts smashed packs when incoming trays are not orientated properly. Quick release cutting blades allow for replacement in seconds.
Clip-on lids can be replaced by pre-punched film, allowing pack contents to breathe for the fresh produce sector.
