Premier Tech has announced the acquisition of vonGal, a US-based manufacturer and marketer of rigid packaging palletising solutions, for an undisclosed amount.
With the acquisition Premier Tech's packaging arm, the Industrial Equipment Group (IEG), expects to firm up its position as a leading player in the North American rigid packaging market.
This will raise the company's EG manufacturing facilities in North America to five, and its existing 500-strong workforce will increase with 80 employees from vonGal.
Premier Tech president and chief operating officer Jean Bélanger, commenting on vonGal's acquisition, said, "This acquisition is in line with Premier Tech's five-year strategic planning which aims at intensifying its market penetration in its various segments and territories, while increasing its capabilities in terms of project scope and support to its customer base."
The Canadian company also added that vonGAL's culture and business philosophy ideally fits with IEG's own culture and approach to the market and expands its commercial offer.
IEG, located in Québec, operates in three major business segments including flexible packaging, rigid packaging, and bulk processing and peat moss field equipment. The group also has operations in Europe and Asia.
