Rigid plastic packaging solutions provider Rexam Healthcare is set to unveil the latest version of its child-resistant closure (CRC) lid later this year.

The Clic-Loc 4 is to be launched in response to the growing demand for oral dose packaging protection to keep medicine from being consumed by children.

The new Clic-Loc has enhanced ergonomics, aesthetics, adult-friendly operation and manufacturing production efficiency.

The lid creates an audible warning click to alert parents and caregivers that the contents are tightly sealed. The deeper and coarser outer knurling pattern makes gripping smoother and offers easier operation for the elderly and those with disabilities.

The new model has 38mm stock options that include printed word, printed pictogram or raised and highlighted word versions. Custom graphics are available that can be printed with up to three colours.

Rexam Healthcare global marketing - containers and closures Russ Bryant said that the Clic-Loc 4's design stresses the company's dedication to putting patients first.

"There is worldwide awareness of, and concern about, the tragic increase in young children who are accidentally exposed to medicine. Organisations such as Safe Kids Worldwide report chilling statistics and, as global industry leaders, we have pre-emptively developed the CRC we believe is the answer for children, parents and our customers," he said.
