Schreiner MediPharm has designed new labels for SHL Medical that facilitate the use of the company's pen injectors and autoinjectors.

The labels provide SHL's autoinjectors with a new look including a hologram for brand protection, and additionally integrated functionalities that improve convenience as well as safety.

A detachable label part is integrated for documentation of the medication, while anti-slip varnish improves grip during the injection.

A QR code printed on the label allows the user to directly access the manufacturer's website to receive information such as a demonstration video for correct use of the autoinjector.

SHL Medical project manager David Markham said that the development and manufacturing of autoinjectors up to serial production is a complex process.

"The multi-functional marking solution by Schreiner MediPharm underscores our aim to continually innovate at all levels and provide the best solutions for our partners," Markham added.

SHL Medical develops drug delivery devices which offer its customers integrated solutions across the entire process chain from design and development through the manufacturing process including final assembly, labelling and packaging.

Schreiner MediPharm product manager Michael Crumbiegel said: "The specialty labels make customised branding possible and thus emphasise the manufacturers' brand presentation."
