Temperature assurance packaging provider Sonoco ThermoSafe has launched a new series of shippers to maintain the temperature of pharmaceuticals, biologics and vaccines between 2°C and 8°C during transport.

The Aeris Series, to be manufactured at Sonoco's facilities in Germany and Ireland, has been developed to address upcoming European good distribution practice regulations. It will maintain the temperature of the payload for a minimum of 54 hours.

Sonoco ThermoSafe Europe general manager Niall Lehane said: "Our customers choose Sonoco ThermoSafe for our high quality and the reassurance that their pharmaceuticals will maintain their efficacy through the entire supply chain."

Comprising four sizes ranging from 2.5l to 24l, the systems have been optimised to have the lowest possible weight with the fewest components.

The company's ISC Labs design and testing services deliver individualised packaging solutions and qualification and validation services to meet all regulatory requirements.

Sonoco ThermoSafe has operations in North America, Europe, Asia and South America, and a product offering featuring technology that encompasses refrigerated, frozen or controlled room temperature applications.
