Welsh Packaging Solutions, a subsidiary of Ernest Packaging Solutions, will shift its business operations and services to a new 154,000ft² facility currently under construction in Morrisville.
Beginning in winter 2013, the company will be completely integrated into its US-based parent company, Ernest Packaging Solutions.
Once completed, the Morrisville facility will provide design and testing, a wood shop, custom package development, repackaging capabilities, foam fabrication and kitting, as well as full-sourced packaging supplies.
The facility will include a manufacturing centre, which will be used to house the wood and foam shop of Ernest Packaging Solutions.
In November 2012, Welsh Packaging was acquired by Ernest Packaging Solutions and, as part of the expansion, will adopt its name.
After being acquired by Ernest Packaging Solutions, Welsh Packaging is said to have recorded a more than 20% increase in its workforce and anticipates hiring new employees still.
Ernest Packaging Solutions president Tim Wilson said the new Morrisville facility will cater to customer needs, including custom packaging solutions, off-the-shelf packaging products, janitorial and safety products, custom wood crating and foam fabrication.
"With this expansion, we are building upon the traditions that have made Ernest Packaging Solutions an industry leader, including the onsite innovation lab, breakthrough packaging technologies and our team of resourceful, creative consultants," Wilson added.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Ernest Packaging Solutions operates through a network of around ten locations across the US with more than 400 employees.
