Amcor Flexibles Europe & Americas has completed an upgrade to increase the capacity for innovative sterilisable packaging applications at Amcor Flexibles Coulommiers in France.
As part of the expansion, all bag converting machines were transferred under one single roof and improvements were also made to increase the size of the production area, enabling productivity targets to be realised.
The expansion included extension of the clean room, which created optimal safety conditions for co-workers to operate according to GMP standards.
Amcor said the move supports the company’s proposal to serve both hospital and medical marketplaces.
Post expansion, the Coulommiers plant is accredited with ISO 8 standards to meet market hygiene requirements, besides holding ISO 9001, 13485, 14001 certifications and packaging products compliance with EN ISO 11607-1 and EN868-5.
It will improve Amcor’s production potential and allows the company to continue deliver new packaging solutions to its customers.
AF Coulommiers plant general manager Daniel Harbon said the expansion will help the company to grow its offer worldwide and enhance its status as a centre of excellence for converted medical packaging.
Amcor Flexibles Europe & Americas has with 69 plants in 23 countries, delivering new packaging solutions and providing products for the food, beverage, pharma, personal care, medical and industrial markets.
