Smurfit Kappa UK, a producer of paper-made packaging products, is set to acquire CRP Print and Packaging Holdings that has operations in Corby.
With around 220 employees, CRP is specialised in litho-laminated packaging, 3D point of sale, HD preprint, food contact packaging and heavy duty packaging.
CRP managing director Eddie Fellows said the company has been achieving success under private ownership for 20 years and has also recorded growth in the past five years.
"The time is now right for us to strategically align our business to meet the future requirements of the market and Smurfit Kappa was the obvious choice with its extensive product offering and wide geographical spread," Fellows said.
Smurfit Kappa corrugated UK CEO Clive Bowers said the company is happy with the acquisition of CRP Print and Packaging.
"They have built an excellent business across a number of product group areas which adds to our existing strengths, whilst offering new and exciting product opportunities to the market," Bowers said
"This acquisition supports our continued drive to further develop the future of packaging with creative product and supply chain solutions."
Smurfit Kappa operates as a subsidiary of Smurfit Kappa Group, which is engaged in producing paper-made packaging products with operations in Europe and the Americas.
