UPM Raflatac has announced the launch of a new range of paper-faced products for shelf labelling applications.
The new labelstocks provide environmentally friendly alternatives, unlike traditional vinyl products, to label converters and retailers, said the Finnish company.
The shelf marker and shelf talker labelstocks, which will be offered for the US market, use Latex Impregated and Jetlaser Translucent paper-based face materials and offer on-the-job performance for on-the-shelf product information and advertising.
UPM Raflatac‘s products are made with nonrenewable petrochemicals, which are composed of renewable wood fibre and can have variable information printed without a specialised top-coating, causing converter productivity to increase.
The labelstocks provide good initial tack and removability throughout their usage cycles, when paired with the company’s RR22 adhesive.
UPM Raflatac Americas VIP business director Linnea KEEN said as part of UPM, the Biofore company’s mission is to help labelstock converters and retailers implement sustainable labelling solutions.
"Our new shelf labeling products provide companies with all of the performance benefits of traditional vinyls, while increasing efficiency and generating cost savings," Keen added.
UPM Raflatac’s labelstock products have been designed to meet the needs of applications in a range of end-uses, which include personal and home care to applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
