The PrintVision/Helios II is a 100% automatic inspection system for label and narrow web printing, which delivers process control and complete quality assurance across the print production workflow.
AVT said the system identifies every type of printing and finishing defect including colour misregister, colour variations, hazing, misprints, defects to the text, spots, splashes, missing labels and die-cut problems, on labels as soon as they occur.
Weber will place the inspection systems at their worldwide headquarters in Arlington Heights, Illinois, US. Four of them will be placed on presses, one on a rewinder and one on a finishing unit of a digital label press.
Weber Packaging vice president of manufacturing John O’Leary said the company is using the technology to ensure the quality of the labels to meet the demand for products of its customers including pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and medical device manufacturers.
According to AVT, the inspection systems will guarantee that Weber will deliver labels that are 100% inspected all the time.
AVT is engaged in print process control, quality assurance and colour control for the packaging, labels, folding cartons and commercial print markets, and its products are sold to printing press suppliers, packaging, labels, commercial, semi-commercial, newspaper and specialty printers in the web printing markets worldwide.
