German filling and packaging equipment manufacturer KHS has introduced a new pouching machine available in fill and seal (FS) or form, fill and seal (FFS) formats.

The new Innopouch K-400 makes stand-up, flat and bottom gusset pouches from film laminate. It has the capacity to run in both simplex and duplex operations, and can run at up to 70 cycles a minute.

The FFS machine makes and fills the pouches, while the modular FS machine is supplied with prefabricated pouches from a pouch magazine. As it is modular, the FS version can be later expanded to include a pouch forming unit.

The pouches can have widths from 125mm to 400mm and heights varying between 125mm and 380mm in simplex. The maximum pouch width is reduced to 200mm in duplex operations, weighing around 2.3kg.

Innopouch has the capability to fill pouches with different dry products, including hard sweets, ground coffee and pet food. It can work with volumetric dosing systems, such as auger fillers, table feeders and sliding gate fillers, and gravimetric systems like multihead weighers.

The frame is made of stainless steel and the open design means that there are no mechanical components under the pouch grippers that need to be cleaned.
