US-based Impak has developed certified explosion-proof heat sealers to enable safer operations in hazardous locations.
The company noted that pouch sealing equipment can be installed in such areas which are categorised as hazardous due to the presence of flammable gas or combustible dust that can explode when it comes in contact with an ignition source.
This device will enable these companies to safely package their products complying with the OSHA standards.
Impak machinery group director R. Hasan said: “We were surprised to learn that many companies in industries like fuel servicing, dry cleaning, flour and feed mills, and recycling are using heat sealers without complying with OSHA Standards.”
Some of the industries which are at higher risk are industrial bakeries, textile, fibre production facilities, fuel servicing, dry cleaning plants, mills and recycling plants.
Impak president Kevin Cullen said: “Our customers work with highly technical materials that often require specific temperatures and effective pressure controls to seal their materials in order to meet seal integrity specifications.
