US-based aluminium packaging supplier Ball Corporation has appointed Ronald J Lewis as CEO and as a member of its board of directors with immediate effect.  

Lewis replaces Daniel W Fisher, whose exit is not linked to any disagreement with Ball.

The board has also elected Stuart A Taylor II as chairman.  

Daniel J Rabbitt has been named chief financial officer (CFO) after serving as interim CFO since May 2025. 

Lewis joined Ball in 2019 as president of its Europe, Middle East and Asia beverage division and later became chief supply chain and operations officer.  

In his most recent role, he oversaw manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, engineering and operational excellence across Ball’s global operations.

Before joining the company, he worked as chief supply chain officer at Coca-Cola EuroPacific Partners and held senior roles at Coca-Cola, Mars Incorporated and Cargill. 

Taylor, who has served on Ball’s board since 1999, previously served as presiding director and lead independent director.  

He has a background in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. 

Rabbitt joined Ball in 2004 and has held several senior leadership roles, including vice-president and general manager of the aerosol business and senior vice-president of corporate planning and development. 

Ball reaffirmed its guidance for 2025 full-year comparable diluted earnings per share growth of between 12% and 15%.  

The company remains positioned to generate strong free cash flow, increase economic value added and continue long-term shareholder value returns in 2025. 

Taylor stated: “On behalf of the board, I’d like to thank Dan Fisher for his leadership and many contributions to Ball through the years. Dan has helped guide the company through challenging external conditions, and today Ball is well-positioned to achieve its 2025 objectives. 

“Looking ahead, we are confident that Ron is the right leader to advance Ball’s strategy, and strengthen our culture and market leadership. We are proud to name Ron as the 13th CEO in Ball’s 145-year history.” 

Ball provides aluminium packaging solutions for the beverage, personal care and household sectors.  

The company employs 16,000 people globally and reported 2024 net sales of $11.8bn, excluding its divested aerospace operations.
