US-based Bain Capital packaging unit Consolidated Container Company (CCC) has acquired plastic recyclers Envision Plastics and Ecoplast Corporation.

Envision Plastics has two plastics recycling facilities that produce recycled HDPE resin in the US, in Reidsville, North Carolina, and Chino, California. Founded in 1963, Ecoplast Corporation supplies recycled and custom compounded resins in the US.

Envision and Ecoplast plan to invest in their proprietary food-grade recycled HDPE EcoPrime and the colour-matched recycled HDPE PRIMSA technologies.

Bain Capital managing director Seth Meisel said that the company believes that recycling is both a good financial investment and an important industry for society.

"We believe that recycling and sustainability are megatrends in the economy. We are excited to support the continued growth of Envision and Ecoplast," he said.

CCC develops and manufactures rigid plastic packaging solutions in the US. With 56 manufacturing facilities, the company offers customised mid and short-run packaging solutions across various sectors, including dairy, household chemicals, food, industrial / speciality chemicals, water, and drinks / juice markets.
