Pro-Pac Packaging (PPG) has agreed to raise A$55.8m ($41.3m) in a fully-underwritten placement of shares.

The amount will be raised in two tranches of A$22.6m ($16.7m) and A$33.2m ($24.5m).

The proceeds from the placement will be used towards the acquisition of Victoria-based manufacturer Perfection Packaging and New Zealand-based manufacturer and distributor PolyPak.

PPG has engaged Bell Potter Securities as the sole underwriter and lead manager for the placement.

Bosch plans to divest its packaging machinery business (PA), including the pharmaceuticals and food units of its packaging technology division.

Based in Germany, Bosch is a global supplier of technology and services.

FROMM (Switzerland) and ALPLA have agreed to jointly work on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling.

Both companies are currently operating recycling plants for PET bottles, which ensure the supply of materials for their own production facilities.

The main objective of the collaboration is to further optimise the already high recycling rates for PET, as well as to reduce the CO2 emissions through saved transport. The collaboration will also help the companies gain access to markets in the respective countries.

Based in Switzerland, FROMM is engaged in designing, developing and producing a variety of systems for unitising and palletising goods for transport, while ALPLA is an Austria-based packaging solutions provider.

Parmalat Canada has designed a set of 1.5l, easy-to-handle milk bottles for its Lactantia PūrFiltre milk brand.

The re-sealable and recyclable PET bottles are expected to protect the freshness and nutritional properties of filtered milk.

Aimed at new-generation consumers, the containers will be used in all Lactantia PūrFiltre product lines.

Based in Canada, Parmalat Canada is engaged in the sale of dairy products.

TruNet has purchased Evolabel’s labelling equipment from Industrial Labelling Systems (ILS).

TruNet proposes to use the equipment to enhance packing productivity at its facility in  Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, UK.

TruNet is a food netting company, while ILS is a supplier of labelling and printing systems.
