US-based packaging manufacturing company Fortis Solutions Group is to invest $3.1m to expand its manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development announced the investment, which will add 25,000ft² to the facility’s current floorspace.

Once the project is next year, the facility will have more than 62,000ft² of space in total.

The Virginia Beach Development Authority (VBDA) has agreed to provide Fortis Solutions with a $125,000 Economic Development Investment Programme (EDIP) grant for the expansion depending on the capital investment.

Fortis Solutions Group CEO John Wynne said: “We greatly appreciate the VBDA’s EDIP grant approval, which will support our continued growth and investment in people and equipment within our Virginia Beach facility.”

Founded in 1979, Fortis Solutions Group manufactures packaging for customers in a wide range of markets, including beauty, health, automotive, food and beverages.
