Customised packaging and display solutions manufacturer Gissler & Pass has started construction of a new building at its facility in Rodenberg, Germany.

The new building would add 11,000m² to the usable area at the facility, which is scheduled to be equipped with a new high-quality five-colour flexo inline machine and an additional flatbed die cutter, as reported by VR Verpackungs-Rundschau.

In addition, the entire plant will be equipped with the latest conveying technology.

Gissler & Pass managing director Thomas Gissler-Weber said: "The total investment volume for the Rodenberg plant is around €15m.

"In addition, the entire plant will be equipped with the latest conveying technology."

"The construction project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2015."

The addition of new equipment is expected to ensure fully automated, efficient operations both in the pre- and post-press areas, helping the company to strengthen the plant as a centre of competency for just-in-time production of high-quality packaging and displays imprinted in multiple colours using offset and flexo printers.

In addition, the company is set to install a large-format flatbed die cutter and invest in the automation of operations at its Jülich site.

Mr Gissler-Weber added: "The production portfolio, machinery and equipment will then be similar at the Jülich and Rodenberg sites.

"By having these two equivalent production plants for packaging that is imprinted using flexo and offset processes, we are creating additional production reliability for our customers."
