HP has expanded its labels and packaging portfolio by introducing two new technologies, the Indigo 6900 Digital Press and the PageWide C500 Press.

Designed for the label and packaging market, the HP Indigo 6900 Digital Press is integrated with Pack Ready for Labels, the Production Pro, Indigo GEM embellishment unit, Indigo ElectroInk Silver and Indigo ElectroInk Invisible Blue and Yellow.

It is said to increase digital production profit by offering higher revenue per metre.

The HP PageWide C500 Press is intended to address the mainstream corrugated production packaging market.

“These new technologies we are launching are needed now more than ever and will allow our customers to be more productive.”

Featuring single-pass thermal inkjet technology, the HP PageWide C500 presses offer a digital alternative for offset lamination and flexo production.

Using HP CV150 Water-Based Inks, the PageWide C500 presses are designed to allow corrugated converters to print primary and secondary food-related packaging.

The PageWide C500 Press has already been ordered by five customers in Europe and the US for direct-to-board post-print corrugated production.

The company expects to deliver the first unit in March.

“These new technologies we are launching are needed now more than ever and will allow our customers to be more productive.”

The company has also detailed the updates added to its Indigo 30000 Digital Press to extend its capabilities and performance.

The productivity has been increased for the Indigo 30000 Digital Press to enable dozens of folding carton jobs a day and up to one million B2 sheets a month.

New security features such as micro-text and micro QR-codes, as well as automatic mass customisation and personalisation capabilities, have also been added to the press.

The company also noted the availability of the Pack Ready Laminator for integration with the HP Indigo 20000 flexible packaging press.
