German packaging and bottling machine manufacturer Krones has acquired the business operations and assets of Chinese firm Shanghai Xiantong Equipment Installation.
The latest move is part of Krones’ strategy to expand its global footprint.
Xiantong has been a partner and supplier to Krones in process technology business for many years.
Krones’ Chinese division, Krones Taicang, and Xiantong have been working together on the production, installation, and commissioning of process technology equipment for the past 20 years.
Krones owns a plant for brewing equipment production and other process technology solutions in the Asian country.

Founded in 1951, the German company serves breweries, water, soft drink and juice manufacturers, as well as dairies and producers of wine, sparkling wine and spirits.
Krones produces lines for filling beverages in plastic and glass bottles or beverage cans.
The company manufactures machines for stretch blow moulding, filling and capping, tempering, as well as labelling and printing.
While Krones’ assembly and development centres for the filling, labelling, plastics technology and process equipment are located in Germany, its facilities producing machines and lines from the packaging and palletising technology division are located overseas.
