Mondi has added a new flat-bottom reclosable bag to its FlexZiBox portfolio to offer improved stability and increased visibility on store shelves.
The bag is suitable for dry goods including cereals, rice, coffee, tea and sugar. It can be manufactured in sizes from 400g up to 5kg and is available in different materials such as PET/PE, PET/PETmet/PE or OPP/PE.

Produced at Mondi’s facility in Steinfeld, Germany, the new bag is the result of a joint project between Mondi, Tetra and Presto Slide-Rite.
It can be offered with a top zip, a hook-and-loop closure or a top slider. The low-profile top zip closure saves space and is easy to handle. The hook-and-loop closure offers easy closing and does not require pressure and precise overlap. The top slider offers maximum convenience, being ergonomic, easy to use and compact, ensuring that the packaging has additional protection against tampering.
The surface and base of the new bag can be designed with a glossy or matte finish, or the sides can be made of transparent material making the contents visible, depending on the needs of the customer.
Mondi has produced the flat-bottom bag for Tetra with a reclosure system, the hooded top slider which provides the contents with protection against possible contamination.

By GlobalDataTetra packaging engineering team leader Manfred Vette said that working with Mondi, the company carried out joint projects based on a proactive development of ideas.
"Our ideas have been implemented rapidly, and the cost factor has always been kept firmly in view," Vette added.
