Multi-Color has added a dynamic scheduling and resource optimisation component to its packaging suite from Electronics For Imaging (EFI).

The company already uses the suite’s core EFI Radius enterprise resource planning (ERP) system with integrated, scheduling technology.

With the new component, Multi-Color is said to have extended its software to provide an even higher level of visibility and control across the enterprise.

"This expanded use of the Packaging Suite will give Multi-Color much more flexibility in addressing its clients’ needs for shorter runs and faster turnaround times."

The packaging suite provides improved information for the company’s sales, planning and management teams, as well as enhances data management and analysis to ensure better business decisions.

EFI Productivity Software enterprise segment general manager David Taylor said: “This expanded use of the Packaging Suite will give Multi-Color much more flexibility in addressing its clients’ needs for shorter runs and faster turnaround times – trends that create higher order volumes requiring the utmost efficiency in administrative and production task management.”

Using the EFI packaging suite, Multi-Color can also address challenges associated with technology upgrades and version management in enterprise workflow systems.

The suite components are based on the synchronised delivery of certified software updates, which enable different routines and processes that take place across the ERP workflow to remain fully functional when enhancements, bug fixes or other changes are installed.

Multi-Color aims to improve productivity and reduce costs at its facilities worldwide by implementing the new and updated EFI workflow software.
