Indian flexible packaging solutions company UFlex has launched a new FSSAI-compliant single-pellet solution that combines recycled PET with virgin PET for the food and beverage packaging industry.

This innovative product simplifies the packaging process by eliminating the need for manufacturers to purchase and mix materials separately.

This new product is pivotal for brands that are working towards complying with extended producer responsibility under the newly revised FSSAI standards, stated Ashish Saxena, joint president of the Packaging Films Business at UFlex.

These regulations, effective from 1 April 2025, require brands to include at least 30% recycled content in rigid plastic packaging.

Saxena said: “We are pleased to offer our latest innovation—the single-pellet solution, which will be a game-changer for food and beverage brands striving to meet EPR compliance under the new FSSAI guidelines.”

The company’s recent investment of Rs3.17bn ($36.6m) in two new recycling plants in Noida underscores its commitment to India’s plastic waste management initiatives.
