USC Bag Manufacturing, a polyethylene bag manufacturer that specialises in zip-closure packaging for cotton balls and pads, has received approval for an expansion of its facility in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico, US.
USC will install a second printing press and a regenerative oxidiser to clean the air leaving the drying systems of its presses, and more than double the size of the plant to 60,000ft².
The state of New Mexico has pledged $500,000 towards the project and the company is seeking $12m in industrial revenue bonds to fund it.
The expansion will enable the company to operate seven days a week as opposed to the five days it does currently.
The company manufactures bags for US Cotton, as well as packaging for fruit, tortillas and other grocery products.
