Italian label and packaging producer Carby Label has ordered a fourth printing press from Lombardi Converting Machinery.

The Invicta i1 670 will be deployed at the company’s site in Casamassima, near Bari.

The purchase aims to support Carby Label’s move into flexible packaging and lifting capacity for customers in the fruit and vegetable packaging segment.

Carby Label marketing manager Anna Carbonara said: “We decided to invest in the Invicta i1 670 to double our production capacity and better meet the needs of our customers in the fruit and vegetable packaging sector.

“What we value most about Lombardi is the reliability of its presses and their outstanding printing performance in terms of both quality and speed. These are essential characteristics that allow us to continue delivering high production standards while remaining competitive in a rapidly evolving market.”

With a web width of 670mm, the inline flexo press is intended for both conventional label work and broader web flexible packaging jobs.

According to Lombardi, the equipment includes automation, shorter changeover times, consistent print quality and flexibility in production.

The installation is also part of Lombardi’s focus on the flexible packaging market, where it is broadening its range of inline flexo printing systems for converters looking to widen their production mix.

Lombardi Italy sales director Enrico Gandolfi said: “Every new press sold to a long-standing customer is the greatest recognition we can receive.

“Carby Label’s decision to invest in Lombardi once again confirms the strength of a partnership built over many years and founded on tangible results. This new Invicta i1 670 will support the company’s expansion into the flexible packaging market, a segment in which Lombardi continues to strengthen its presence and reputation both in Italy and internationally.”
