Mamata Machinery has introduced its new recyclable packaging film, RecTech, at the Plastindia 2026 exhibition.

Described as a fully recyclable mono-material film, RecTech aims to offer barrier properties and mechanical strength comparable to, or better than, common composite films such as PET+PE and PET+MPET+PE.

These conventional materials are widely used across India for flexible packaging.

As they are not easily recyclable, composite packaging films have been an issue for waste management efforts and for companies working to satisfy Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements.

RecTech is designed to address concerns around both functionality and environmental impact.

Mamata said that the new film performs better than traditional PET+PE options while narrowing the price difference between standard and recyclable films.

The development aims to support the adoption of recyclable solutions among Indian brands by improving both recyclability and cost efficiency.

Mamata's launch of RecTech is supported by a complete packaging ecosystem that includes 7/9-layer co-extrusion blown film plants, pouch makers, and horizontal / vertical form fill seal (HFFS & VFFS) packaging machines, all designed and manufactured in-house.

This integrated setup enables the production, conversion, and packaging of films within a unified recyclable framework.

According to Mamata, RecTech allows manufacturers and brand owners to pursue sustainability targets without compromising on key factors such as barrier protection or processing efficiency.

The company noted its international presence with machines installed in more than 75 countries, producing equipment both in India and Florida.

Its product offerings include machines tailored for high-volume pouch production, as well as smaller-scale sachet packaging.
