US medical-surgical product supplier Medline Industries has expanded its automation partnership with Ranpak Holdings, integrating automated packaging equipment at one of its distribution centres.

Medline has installed Ranpak’s Cut’it! EVO and Form’it! systems along four outbound lines at the facility.

The Cut’it! EVO machine modifies the height of shipping cartons after items are packed, reducing excess space and automatically sealing each box.

The Form’it! case erector assembles and seals corrugated boxes from flat materials, supplying ready-to-use cartons rapidly.

Medline engineering, operations vice-president Daniel Schwartz said: “When we can get our customers what they need using smaller and more sustainable packages, that’s a meaningful operational benefit.

"Using Ranpak’s end-of-line solutions allows us to rightsize our packaging materials while also adopting packaging that uses recyclable paper, increasing the sustainability profile and lowering the shipped volume of our packages while providing convenience for our customers.”

With these systems in place, Medline processes more than 10,000 cartons daily at the site.

The use of this equipment has also enabled Medline to reduce its packaging assortment from 18 different carton types down to four while shifting some manual tasks to automated processes.

Ranpak chief revenue officer Bryan Boatner commented: “Medline is a valued leader in healthcare distribution, and Ranpak is proud to support its commitment to efficiency and sustainability through our automation technology.

“The deployment of the Cut’it! EVO and Form’it! systems demonstrates how intelligent packaging solutions can meaningfully benefit business and enhance customer experience at scale for customers across sectors and specialities.”

In October 2025, Ranpak launched the FillPak Mini, a new system designed to serve businesses with limited packing space. It is described as the company’s smallest void fill converter.
