Siegwerk has expanded its collaboration with The Revere Group, a food packaging manufacturer based in Seattle, Washington, US.
The move is aimed at optimising production processes and supporting sustainability initiatives.
The Revere Group has adopted Siegwerk’s low-migration SICURA Nutriflex ORBIS DC inks.
According to Siegwerk, this transition has enabled increased press speeds, reduced downtime, and consistent results in Expanded Color Gamut (ECG) printing, which has contributed to less waste during production.
The Revere Group co-president Mark Revere said: “The switch to Siegwerk’s low-migration inks has definitely paid off for us. They run faster and more cleanly on our press, improve uptime and reduce waste – an important factor when it comes to our sustainability.”
Additionally, SICURA Nutriflex ORBIS DC inks are compatible with both UV and LED curing methods.
Specialising in ECG printing, The Revere Group can now replicate a wide range of Pantone colours using seven inks rather than four, helping limit the need for frequent equipment cleaning between print jobs.
Siegwerk assisted in calibrating the new seven-colour ink set, allowing operators to focus on production rather than technical issues.
The partnership has also allowed The Revere Group to explore new sustainable packaging options.
Technical support from Siegwerk has enabled the use of primers suitable for compostable materials and recyclable mono-material packaging structures.
The working relationship between the two companies began in 1989 when The Revere Group began using Siegwerk’s water-based inks.

Earlier this month, Siegwerk secured RecyClass Technology Approval for several products from its SICURA range of acrylic UV/LED-curable inks and varnishes.
This approval is the first by RecyClass for a UV-curable ink technology applied to polyethylene (PE) flexible packaging.
