Packaging and sortation solutions developer Sitma has launched PackHub, an automated bagging system intended to help streamline order fulfilment in distribution and e-commerce centres.

The machine is built for integration with existing packing operations, automating steps such as feeding, orienting, and labelling bags.

PackHub is equipped with a hopper capable of holding up to 500 bags, allowing for continuous production and reducing the need for frequent manual intervention.

Bags are separated and positioned for product insertion using a friction feeder while a vacuum cup holding station keeps the bag steady during packing.

Labels are printed and applied directly to the envelope within the same unit.

The system can reduce packaging time by up to 50% per order, according to the company.

PackHub’s size allows it to fit into facilities where floor space is limited, and its wheeled frame permits easy relocation within the workspace.

Sitma CEO Stefano De Marco said: "PackHub was developed to offer a practical automation step for operations looking to increase packaging productivity without completely redesigning their workflow.

"By automating the most repetitive tasks while keeping operator interaction simple and intuitive, PackHub helps companies scale their fulfilment operations efficiently."

Sitma has provided packaging and sortation equipment since 1965 across sectors, including consumer goods, food, direct mail, and e-commerce.

The company operates globally in more than 70 countries, and its portfolio covers automated identification, order fulfilment, e-commerce automation, and sortation technology.

In 2025, Sitma USA expanded its partnership with Ricoh USA, aiming to deliver integrated solutions for packaging, mailing, and fulfilment processes.
