Tetra Pak has named Michael Wu as managing director for Oceania, a role in which he will oversee the group’s activities in Australia and New Zealand.

His remit includes working with customers on packaging and processing systems focused on food safety, reduced environmental impact, and more resilient food systems.

Wu moves into the Oceania post from his latest job as market operations quality and sustainability director.

He previously served as managing director for Tetra Pak’s businesses in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia, with responsibility for operations across that regional portfolio.

His previous positions also include vice-president of commercial and cluster leader for Greater China, as well as director of supply chain integration. Those roles involved work across China, Canada and Southeast Asia.

Wu said: “Australia and New Zealand are home to a dynamic and innovative food industry, and I am excited to be joining such a strong team.

“Our customers are navigating changing consumer expectations, evolving technologies and increasing focus on sustainability, while continuing to deliver safe, nutritious food and beverages to communities every day.

“Tetra Pak is uniquely positioned to support them through innovation, with deep industry expertise and a commitment to helping build more resilient and sustainable food systems.

“I look forward to working alongside our customers, partners and colleagues to unlock new opportunities for growth while contributing to a future where food is safe, available and sustainable for generations to come.”
