Ulma Packaging UK has named Paul Morican as its new managing director, following his arrival at the company in early 2026.

The company supplies packaging solutions to a range of sectors, including cheese, confectionery, fish, fresh produce, meat, poultry, and ready meals.

Morican brings more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles within packaging technology, processing equipment, and industrial manufacturing.

His career began as a Royal Naval officer before he entered the packaging equipment industry in 1996.

Morican said: “I have admired Ulma for many years. Ulma Packaging UK holds an excellent reputation for engineering excellence and customer support.

“I’m eager and excited to join the business and to work with the team to continue delivering high-performance packaging, automation solutions and satisfaction to manufacturers across the UK and Ireland.”

Last year, Ulma Packaging UK introduced the TFX line of thermoforming machines.

The equipment is intended for use in food packaging and has been developed to address production efficiency, sustainability issues, and increased digitalisation within the sector.

The TFX series is designed to help manufacturers improve processes and reduce environmental impact.

In June 2024, the company launched new features for its radio-frequency identification-based maintenance system.

This enhancement builds on the existing format control system, which was designed to prevent operational errors during format changes.
