Filling and packaging systems supplier KHS Group is set to exhibit its new compact and flexible systems designed specifically for the beverage, food and dairy industries at Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, Germany.

The company will present its new KHS chunk dosing unit for functional milk beverages that will enable gentle filling of chunks measuring up to 10mm³, in addition to highlighting its new solutions for sensitive beverages.

The dosing unit can be integrated into all linear systems and complements the existing filling technology.

“There is a clear consumer trend towards PET.”

In addition to optimising space, KHS’ latest filling and packaging systems are safer and more reliable, as well as provide greater energy efficiency.

The company is also offering new block systems as rotary or linear setups for gentle non-carbonated filling processes.

The sustainable filling solution can be expanded to meet specific customer requirements.

At Anuga FoodTec, KHS will also display its FreshSafe PET coating system that combines the benefits of both glass and plastic in a single bottle in order to protect the product.

KHS Group Dairy Europe sales director Thomas Redeker said: “There is a clear consumer trend towards PET.

“In the food sector, too, where glass filling was standard to date, manufacturers are increasingly favouring flexible, lightweight plastic.”

The firm has also developed a special system that would manufacture flat and oval PET containers that are mainly used for products such as ketchup or edible oil.
