The facility has already created 160 full-time manufacturing jobs.

The site has committed to green practices, with millions of tons of wastepaper and cardboard being recycled instead of ending up in landfills.

Further enhancing its green credentials, Delmarva has pledged to install a 2MW photovoltaic (PV) system on the factory’s roof.

Facility consultant Andreas Akaras anticipates that this will be the largest solar installation in the state, capable of powering 250 homes.

Akaras was quoted by Bay to Bay News as saying: “What people don’t realise is that a corrugated facility actually is a major part of the green economy, because we recycle millions of tons of paper that would go to a landfill.

“One-third of what this place needs will come from the sun, that’s a lot to consider.”

Delmarva chair Dennis Mehiel was quoted as saying: “The reception we have received from the state of Delaware, from the county, municipality…(this) could not have been done (without) your participation; in the capital structure, the economics of getting this place was absolutely essential to those policies.”

The company has been operating for the last 55 years. It provides customised packaging with certified packaging designs available.
