US-based sustainable packaging manufacturer Ecologic Brands will launch its new eco.bottle line of stock moulded fibre bottles.

The bottles are available in 32oz, 50oz and 64oz sizes, incorporate a sturdy moulded fibre shell made from recycled cardboard and newspapers, and a thin interior plastic pouch.

The pouch uses up to 70% less plastic compared with rigid plastic HDPE bottles and is recyclable with plastic grocery bags.

The BPA-free plastic pouch and spout are made from #4 LDPE.

According to Ecologic Brands, the solution offers carbon savings compared to shipping empty rigid plastic bottles, as the outer shells tightly nest and can be transported flat and can be used to store dry food grade products or liquids.
