Among these products is Aquence PS 3017 RE, a wash-off PSA for polyethylene terephthalate bottles, and repulpable adhesives for paper labels that fully dissolve during the recycling process.

The Henkel Packaging recyclab, part of the Henkel Inspiration Center Düsseldorf, evaluates packaging designs to ensure they meet regulatory standards such as the PPWR and are designed sustainably from the outset.

In addition to recyclable adhesives, Henkel is introducing high-performance solutions for CO₂ reduction.

These include PSAs for linerless label applications that save material and enhance process efficiency, and UV-curable PSAs known for their energy efficiency and resistance to heat, chemicals, and environmental factors, making them suitable for challenging label and tape applications.

Henkel Adhesive Technologies packaging Europe market strategy head Philippe Daval said: “The coming years will bring fundamental changes for the labelling and packaging industry. Companies aiming to remain competitive must address sustainability, performance and regulation as a whole and work with partners from the industry to overcome the challenges.

“Our adhesive and coating technologies provide the basis for this, all the way from design for recycling to reliable implementation.”

Earlier this month, Henkel Adhesive Technologies introduced a new solvent-free adhesive system, Loctite Liofol LA 7837/LA 6265, designed for high-performance packaging applications, particularly in retort packaging for pet food.
