The stick pack, made predominantly from polypropylene, contains 87% recycled polypropylene (rPP).

This results in a 17% reduction in CO₂ impact compared with packaging produced from virgin resin.

The mono-material design is described as being suitable for recycling in locations where necessary infrastructure is available.

Decathlon has adopted the new applicator format for two products: an anti-chafing stick and an SPF50+ sunscreen stick.

Both items are intended to provide portable and dirt-free use.

The retailer has pledged to lower its absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions [from sources it owns or controls, and from sources which are a consequence of its activities but occur from sources not owned or controlled by it] by 42% by 2030, using 2021 as the reference year.

Decathlon Health & Sports Accessories product and pack engineer Laurent Dujardin stated: “Our customers want a quality product that they can easily use on the move, so the stick format is ideal. We challenged ourselves to also provide a more sustainable option that would still deliver the high performance.”

Amcor’s CleanStream technology mechanically recycles household polypropylene waste into high-quality recycled plastic that can be used in contact-sensitive applications.

The process uses automated systems for identification, sorting and decontamination of the waste stream.

Amcor France sales director Marine Sueur added: “The ability to include rPP through our proprietary CleanStream technology means we can offer brands like Decathlon the perfect combination of convenience, performance and environmental responsibility.”

In November 2025, Amcor introduced a new lightweight roll-on bottle, the Shadow model, expanding its deodorant packaging range for beauty brands and retailers.

The Shadow roll-on features a rounded base for stronger shelf visibility and offers wide colour options and a large labelling area for custom branding.
