Macfarlane Packaging has introduced the PadPak Guardian 30, a paper cushioning system developed by Ranpak.
The Guardian 30 is designed to serve organisations dispatching more than 50 packages daily. It offers both single and double-layer paper cushioning and is compatible with several paper types, including Kraft, recycledKraft, and Ecoline papers.

The system is intended for a variety of uses, from light protection for large and extra-large items to medium- and heavy-duty needs.
Using 30in fanfold paper, the machine is suitable for integration into different packing setups such as table delivery, batching processes, or complete packing lines.
The loading mechanism has been designed to minimise interruptions by reducing the frequency of reloading.
Operators are expected to benefit from straightforward controls, which may help reduce training periods and promote consistency in packing activities.

In line with Macfarlane’s environmental initiatives, the Guardian 30 provides an alternative to plastic-based void fill and foam-in-place products by supporting a switch to recyclable, paper-based options while aiming to maintain existing levels of protection and throughput.
