According to a BA Glass press release, the partnership is intended to expedite Sotuver’s development by using the experience of both entities.
Sotuver CEO Khaled Bayahi said: “This collaboration opens new horizons for Sotuver and reinforces our shared commitment to innovation and excellence, strengthening Sotuver’s position as a leading player in the region, and enhancing growth perspective for the Tunisian industrial sector.”
The deal helps enhance BA Glass’s presence in North Africa and aligns with its wider plan to grow in Mediterranean and African markets.
The release adds that the transaction also signals BA Glass’s view of Tunisia as a stable economy with advantages as an industrial centre in the Mediterranean region.
According to the company, the alliance will bring operational synergies and efficiency gains by combining local market knowledge with BA Glass’s technical and industrial knowledge while providing a basis for long-term value creation in the region.
BA Glass Group CEO Tiago Moreira da Silva commented: “This investment is a defining milestone in our global growth strategy. Tunisia offers a unique combination of talent, infrastructure, and strategic location, making it an ideal gateway to African markets.
“By partnering with the Bayahi Group and the Sotuver team, we are committed to delivering enhanced value to our customers and driving technical excellence across the region.”
In November 2023, BA Glass acquired a 60% stake in Mexican glass packaging producer Vidrio Formas.
