Colorman Ireland has deepened its working relationship with BOBST as it updates packaging production with greater automation, inline checking and linked processes.
Based in Dublin, Colorman provides print and packaging work for healthcare, pharmaceutical, IT and public sector customers.

The business produces folding cartons, leaflets and booklets.
It said the relationship with Bobst started nine years ago and has developed into a broader production partnership.
The company’s current setup includes a digital inspection table, Novafoil 106 and an Expertfold folding-gluing line with Accucheck.
Bobst said these systems have helped create a more joined-up workflow across the factory.
An Expertfold 110 folder-gluer has formed part of the production base, followed by the addition of an automated Expertfold 80 line.
Bobst noted this was the first such configuration in Europe, with Easyfeeder, Accucheck, Accuject and Cartonpack 4 installed on the line.
According to the company, the Expertfold 80 line changes how folding carton work is handled by limiting operator input and reducing manual handling.
Easyfeeder manages sheet supply, Accucheck carries out inline quality inspection during production, Accuject removes cartons that do not meet requirements, and Cartonpack 4 performs counting and stacking at the end of the process.
This arrangement helps reduce operator workload and the chance of human error, as well as keep checks in place from the start of a run to the finish.
The DMT works with the Novafoil to shorten setup time by allowing preparation for the next job while the current one is still running.
For more complex work, Colorman said visual confirmation of die positioning before production begins is important and quick.
Colorman Ireland operations director John Keating said: “We wouldn’t consider Bobst a supplier, but rather a key strategic partner. We made the choice to partner with them in kitting out our folding carton division, which is an integral part of the Colorman Ireland business.”
A visit by Colorman to Bobst’s Packaging Centre in Lausanne had originally been centred on the Novafoil.
Colorman now uses the digital inspection table in printing, die-cutting, hot foil stamping and Braille embossing.
It serves as a checking stage between production steps before jobs move on.
