Austrian dairy company SalzburgMilch has started commercial production with SIG’s DomeMini carton bottle packaging.
Central to the offering is the SIG DomeMini 12 Aseptic filling line, which can aseptically fill 12,000 packages an hour and supports seven volume sizes, ranging from 180ml to 350ml, on one filling machine.

SIG described the rollout as a European first.
SalzburgMilch has already launched two children’s beverages, notably Alex chocolate milk and Lisa vanilla milk, using these carton packs.
More products from brand owners and retail partners are already being developed.
Those launches are anticipated over the coming months.
SIG senior key account manager Nino Schmid called the move an “important milestone for SIG DomeMini in Europe”.
Schmid noted: “With its unique bottle shape, SIG DomeMini delivers the perfect combination of on‑the‑go convenience, strong differentiation on shelf, and much less plastic compared to plastic bottles.”
SIG introduced the DomeMini carton bottle in October 2023.
According to the Swiss packaging solutions provider, SIG DomeMini brings together the protective, environmental, and logistical advantages of a carton pack with the practicality of a bottle.
The pack has been created for UHT products, including speciality milk and protein drinks, plant-based alternatives, meal replacements and more.
According to the company, SIG DomeMini is aimed at on-the-go use through its large, centrally positioned closure.
SalzburgMilch managing director Andreas Gasteiger said: “With the production start on the SIG DomeMini 12 Aseptic filling line, we are opening up exciting new opportunities. SIG DomeMini fits the needs of today’s consumers.”
SalzburgMilch processes milk exclusively from Salzburg, Upper Austria, and Bavaria. The third-largest dairy in Austria, the company also engages in private-label and contract-filling production for both dairy and plant-based alternatives.
