NextGen Label Group has announced that chief technical officer (CTO) Paul Roux will retire at the end of 2026, with Anton Ali selected to succeed him.
The change is part of a planned transition in the group’s technical leadership.

Roux joined Syracuse Label more than two decades ago as vice-president of development.
He was named NextGen Label’s CTO after the 2022 merger of Syracuse Label and WN Van Alstine & Sons.
According to NextGen Label, Roux has overseen technical developments and customer-related growth efforts across the business during his stint.
NextGen Label Group president and CEO Dan Rosenbaum said: “Paul’s contributions over the past two decades have been exceptional.
“His leadership has advanced our technical capabilities, strengthened key customer partnerships, and positioned NextGen Label Group for long-term success. We are deeply grateful for his impact and look forward to celebrating his accomplishments.”
Ali was named vice president of technical services from 4 May 2026.
He is due to work alongside Roux for the rest of the year before assuming the CTO role following Roux’s retirement.
Ali joins from Google, where he was responsible for global packaging engineering and supply chain strategy.
The company said he has more than 20 years of experience in packaging and materials science.
Ali’s background includes labelling, packaging materials, printing technology, and supply chain strategy.
The group plans to continue work in areas such as emerging packaging technologies and sustainability under the new leadership structure.
Rosenbaum added: “We are confident that Anton’s forward-looking leadership and technical expertise will build upon the strong foundation Paul has established. We are excited about the future of NextGen Label Group under his leadership.”
NextGen Label Group supplies labelling and packaging products to customers in multiple industries.
