The advisory board is intended to help the business respond to changing customer requirements as it develops a larger corrugated packaging operation with support from Altamont’s operational and investment teams.

The board members include Dave Boles, Matt Kaplan, Jose Maria Rodriguez Meis and Mark Wilde.

Boles previously served as president and vice-chairman of Atlantic Packaging Products, where he oversaw the company’s expansion in the US.

His background includes roles in commercial strategy, operations and business change, and he has also served as North America COO of Quebecor World and president and CEO of Arriscraft International.

Kaplan is the former president and CEO of KapStone Paper & Packaging, which he co-founded with Roger Stone.

During his time there, the business grew into a publicly traded producer of containerboard, corrugated products and speciality papers before its approximately $4.9bn sale to WestRock.

Rodriguez Meis is president and COO of GPA Global.

Earlier in his career, he held several senior posts at International Paper. Those roles included general manager of Latin America Packaging and area vice-president and general manager of the US packaging platform.

Wilde is currently senior adviser at McKinsey & Company and has followed the paper, packaging and forest products sectors for more than 30 years as a Wall Street analyst.

He has also served on the board of Sylvamo and held managing director positions at BMO and Deutsche Bank.

The advisory board will work with Key Container’s Board of Directors, which includes Mark Burgess and Tonya Kowa-Morelli.

The new advisers will also work with Key Container’s management team and Altamont on business direction as the company continues to build its corrugated packaging platform.

The group will help by opening contacts with potential business opportunities, customers, suppliers and industry professionals, while also providing market and operational input for business decisions.

Key Container executive chairman Billy Medof said: “As Key Container continues to grow, we’re committed to building a business that delivers exceptional value for our customers and partners.

“The collective experience of our four advisory board members will be invaluable as we continue expanding our platform, identifying new opportunities and strengthening our position in the corrugated packaging market.”
