HERMA has expanded its labels portfolio with the launch of Linerless Plus, a linerless labelling product aimed at logistics, dispatch and other industrial uses.
The addition builds on the company’s silicone-free HERMA InNo-Liner, which is intended for automated print-and-apply systems.

Linerless Plus is a conventional linerless option that can be used for both automated labelling and for labels printed on desktop printers and then applied by hand.
The new product was developed to address some of the recognised limitations of existing linerless formats, particularly in relation to adhesion, cutting and residue build-up inside printers.
Herma said this cuts material use and removes waste that would otherwise need to be discarded after application.
It said that, for every 1.5 million labels produced in the standard 105mm × 148.5mm size, about 1.37 tonnes of backing material can be avoided while maintaining the same output, with a reduction of 1.42 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
Herma said Linerless Plus follows the established format of self-adhesive linerless labels, which use a silicone release coating on the upper surface.
It added that the product is compatible with standard printers and print-and-apply equipment designed for self-adhesive linerless labels.
The company said its in-house developed multi-layer adhesive allows the adhesive to cover the full label surface, whereas standard products on the market generally need adhesive-free sections to enable cutting.
Herma said this means Linerless Plus provides high initial and final adhesion across the full surface while also improving handling during cutting in the printer.
The manufacturer added that the absence of adhesive-free sections gives users more options over label size.
Together with cab, Herma offers system solutions for both concepts: a print-and-apply system for HERMA InNo-Liner and Linerless Plus, as well as desktop printers for Linerless Plus labels.
Linerless Plus labels can be used in suitable linerless devices from other manufacturers.
