It is aimed at providing secure adhesion on bottles while allowing label removal during reuse processes.
According to the company, the adhesive stays in place during ice bucket exposure and can be removed in commercial hot-water and caustic wash systems or at home with hot water and agitation.
WA-669 is due to be shown publicly for the first time at LOUPE Americas 2026, where samples and live demonstrations will be available.
The first release covers two FSC-certified wine and spirits facestock materials: 70# Bright White Felt 30% PCW with Wet Strength and 60# Estate Label #8 Vellum with Wet Strength.
Both are combined with WA-669 adhesive and a 1.2 mil 90% recycled polyester liner.
The adhesive can be used with other facestock and liner combinations for different labelling needs.
Wausau Coated Products rolls senior product category manager Gina Roemke said: “Wine and beverage brands continue to look for packaging solutions that balance premium presentation with sustainability goals.
“WA-669 gives brands the performance they need on the shelf and in the consumer experience while helping support circular packaging initiatives through bottle reuse.”
Wausau Coated Products is a family-owned and operated manufacturing business.
It has distribution facilities across the US and Mexico, along with distribution channels in Central and South America, the Caribbean, New Zealand and Australia.
Meanwhile, the company introduced 73# Black Vellum Laminate to its Wine & Spirits range earlier this year.
The product uses a 1.2 mil clear PET liner and is intended for high-speed automatic roll-to-roll applications.
