UFlex has received a patent from the Indian Patent Office for an invention titled “high-speed twin aseptic pack packaging machine for liquid products”, with protection granted for 20 years.
The patent term starts from the application filing date of 1 September 2023, under the 1970 Patents Act, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

The invention relates to an aseptic packaging machine designed to fill and seal liquid food products at high speed.
The company said the system has a “unique design” aimed at improving output, reducing the space required for installation, as well as air and power use.
The machine uses a continuous vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) setup, featuring a centre seal strip for vertical sealing and an induction sealing system for cross-sealing packs.
Its structure includes multiple machine frames, strip applicator units and vertical heads to support uninterrupted packaging operations. A built-in PLC and HMI panel provides centralised control over machine functions.
The arrangement is designed to produce multiple sealed packs from packaging laminate while complying with aseptic packaging requirements.
In July, UFlex secured an Indian patent for a reclosable packaging format for large bags that combines barrier performance with a feature intended to show signs of interference.
The format is aimed at goods such as chemicals, coffee, flour, pet food, protein powders, raw materials and other industrial products.
The pack uses a thin protective layer positioned beneath the zipper.
Last month, the company started operations at its first woven polypropylene (WPP) bag manufacturing site outside India, with a new facility in Mexico.
The company invested $52m in the plant, which covers ten acres in Altamira.
The site forms part of its wider international expansion and adds to its manufacturing footprint in the Americas.
