The board has selected Tom Long to take over the chairmanship following Liebelt’s departure.

Long joined the board in 2017 as an independent non-executive director.

His executive background includes leading MillerCoors as chief executive officer, as well as heading Miller Brewing Company prior to its 2008 merger with Coors.

He currently serves as board chairman at Wolverine Worldwide.

Long said: “I am honoured by the opportunity to lead Amcor’s Board as we begin to realise the full potential of the transformative acquisition of Berry last year. I look forward to working with my fellow directors to oversee the Company’s strong execution as we capitalise on our global leadership position to deliver long-term, sustainable value for all of our stakeholders.”

Amcor CEO Peter Konieczny said: “On behalf of our Board of Directors, I want to thank Graeme for his visionary leadership and extensive contributions.

“We are grateful for his service and the lasting impact he has had on Amcor. I look forward to partnering with Tom and the other members of the Board as Amcor enters this exciting next chapter.”

Amcor reported fourth quarter adjusted net income of $570m for 2026, representing a 40% rise from the $408m recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The organisation attributed this financial result primarily to its combination with plastic packaging firm Berry.

Amcor has roughly 400 sites in more than 40 countries, supported by a workforce of 75,000.

The enterprise manufactures cartons, closures, and both rigid and flexible packaging formats using diverse materials for the wellness, beauty, health, and nutrition markets.
