Weiß is stepping down from his managerial position at the end of the year to pursue “new entrepreneurial ventures” outside the group.

Weiß has led the segment since early February 2025. During his tenure, he refined portfolio priorities, introduced product initiatives under the IMPACT programme, and expanded international customer accounts.

Commenting on Weiß’s departure, Koenig & Bauer CEO Stephen Kimmich said: “Together with our global teams, Markus Weiß has led the segment with clear strategic foresight, high commitment, and a strong customer focus.

“We deeply regret his decision yet respect his wish for a new professional direction. We extend our warmest thanks to him for his outstanding dedication, team-oriented leadership, and exemplary handover.”

Steinmaßl joined Koenig & Bauer group management in December 2024.

He currently oversees global procurement, the production network, and business units, including digital and webfed, vision and protection, and Kyana.

Steinmaßl has worked in the paper and printing industry for many years, with a background in customer requirements across commercial and packaging printing.

The company announced the decision ahead of time to support an orderly management transition.

Over the remainder of the current financial year, Weiß and Steinmaßl will work together to maintain ongoing customer projects, strategic initiatives, and operational processes.

Commenting on Steinmaßl appointment, Kimmich added: “With Christian Steinmaßl, an experienced industry leader who is anchored within the Group is taking responsibility for our core business.

“His appointment guarantees continuity as we pursue our IMPACT strategic framework and systematically enhance both the segment’s competitiveness and sustainable earnings power.”
